The Onslow Radiation Oncology team is comprised of expertly trained, certified, and extremely knowledgeable individuals dedicated to getting you better. We believe that our role is about more than providing medical skills and experience in a variety of fields. It’s about building a personal, highly collaborative relationship with our patients, and providing them with a compassionate, individualized, and comprehensive approach to cancer care.

Darrel Ross, MD

Dr. Ross specializes in the treatment of breast, prostate, and head and neck cancers, and he is skilled in advanced procedures such as Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT).

Over the past two decades, he has been actively involved in clinical research trials and has published several papers in the field. He takes great pride in teaching and educating both his medical colleagues and patients about radiation oncology. Additionally, he is an LGBTQIA+ provider.

In his free time, Dr. Ross enjoys traveling, walking, cycling, and practicing kickboxing.

Bryce Lord, DO

Dr. Bryce Lord, a seasoned professional in cancer care, brings a thoughtful and personalized approach to his practice at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, he earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and completed his medical degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Lord furthered his training in radiation oncology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Lord believes in simplifying the cancer treatment journey for patients, which is the cornerstone of his practice. His close collaboration with each individual ensures that patients comprehend their diagnosis and treatment options, focusing on their unique values, goals, and needs. This emphasis on teamwork and patient involvement ensures that each individual feels valued and integral to their own care.

Dr. Lord's practice is distinguished by his love for incorporating cutting-edge technologies that enhance results and minimize side effects. His passion for advanced techniques like stereotactic radiosurgery and hypofractionation is evident in his work, instilling confidence in his patients about the effectiveness of their treatment.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Lord enjoys a variety of activities such as hiking, biking, skiing, and fishing. These activities not only keep him physically fit but also help him understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle in cancer prevention and recovery. He is also keenly interested in photography, solar astronomy, and astrophotography. His diverse interests reflect his curiosity and dedication to lifelong learning—qualities that shine through in his patient care.
